While it's a good idea because it works, it seems a lot like spawn camping. If you're doing it on the airfield, then it is most definitely whoring the airfield.
They way I'm gonna rule this is :
If you're using this tactic to lay down suppressive fire while another squad grabs the flag that's fine.
If you use this tactic to hover around a flag and rack up points while there's no squad to grab the flag, that is a big no-no.
However, I'm going to have a talk with the admins about this one and see what they think about it. Essentially, you're exploiting the game mechanics (no pilot so missiles ignore you) and that's just not cool.
Don't be surprised if you see a server rule against this pretty soon.
Personally, I think the idea is pretty damn cool, but if it's abused it makes the server seem like we approve of stat padding. Not to mention that you wear the clan tags now, so you represent the clan and not just yourself anymore.

You are missing the point though - they loose the airfield, the lynch pin of the Chinese and they pay the consequences as in they have no J10s. They loose the other flags, because we take the bhawk straight to the extra flags and capture those and they don't organize a defense (E.g. nobody picks AT enough, nobody shoots at us with the Jeeps enough, then once again they pay the consquences... They already nerfed engineers in blackhawks, its basically me and nick vs. a squad of 12, nick being medic. If they would just pick AT they would have no trouble taking us down - but only one or two is willing! That's their problem not ours.
I always host the squad so everyone is welcome to join, spawn off me, and capture the flag. You can see this in the videos. People spawn on me and jump out. Fact is with 12 people spawning every 15 seconds, the only way to capture that last flag is to get armor to roll in while we support it with the bhawk.
Swapping out pilots only happens while I repair which is a neccesity, hardly an exploit. This keeps you out of the danger situation while repairing, because it is very rare you can get a third person who just wants to sit and repair for you!
You can put rules against things, but keep in mind that the blackhawk has huge weaknesses, and if people are too stupid to defend properly before it is too late, you can hardly blame us. We are just doing our job, and a damn fine job it was!
Also about representing the clan, I'd rather represent the clan showing everyone how we can kick ass with whatever equipment is present and teach everyone a solid lesson. Many of the people were asking us how it was possible to do what we did - it hardly casts us in a bad light, everyone there at the server knew the other team was getting an ass beating because they didn't play as a team.
We all play this game for fun and to win, and out smarting, and using your technology to its maximum potential is how to win while having fun. E.g. they have J10s whoring us the entire start of the round, but we go straight to the airfield and start capping flags. We get shot down a bunch, but once the airfield is taken, that is their problemo! Then it is a slow process of capping the remaining flags and dealing with their defense. If they get pushed back two a few flags and the bhawk is making hamburger out of them, you can hardly blame us for playing a solid game while the rest of our team rolls in.
Zen.

I've sent Brod a lengthy PM which he may choose to share with others. I must say I am utterly suprised and disappointed at the negative feedback recieved here, yet praise from everyone else. I posted this with the intent of sharing something fun yet challenging to do, not with the intent of new rules against me and taking flak from a clan I am new to.

It's a real thorny issue and I've listened to both sides.
Here are my ideas on the issue:
1) The AA not being able to hit the chopper while there's no pilot is basically a non-issue. AA really can't hit a chopper with a pilot in it.
2) The blackhawk is a suppressive fire machine, hence the two mini guns. You guys just happen to be good at using it.
3) One AT and a MG should totally be sufficient to damage a BH faster than an engineer can repair it.
4) It's fairly easy to kill someone once they're in the reserve (non-gun) position.
My original thought is that the BH was kept pilotless for the most amount possible to stop AA from locking onto it.
My official ruling is this:
As long as you arn't spawn camping, it is a legitimate tactic due to the blackhawk being designed as a squad support weapon with a minigun meant to dispense surpressing fire.

sure its fun in games when your in it brod, like last night. and i do consider it spawn camping because every time i spawned you killed me within 3 seconds, 10 steps... your really pissing people off when you do that and you caused myself, kartman, jamereamah and max to leave.
