Yes sir!!! I haven't played crysis and was waiting for someone to say "it has a great MP too" but I haven't heard that.

Yeah, everything that I have read said, nice single player, ok multiplayer, insane graphics, and that's what saves its ass... Crysis only got an 8.5/10 from tomsgames whereas CoD4 got a 9.5/10!

I will say that Crysis is by far the best looking game I have ever played, but with the lack of different multiplayer modes, mediocre AI, and ammount of bog-down that is incurred from it, I will stick with CoD4. Don't get me wrong, crysis is a great game. I am waiting to get home so I can view the video that I linked above (can't see it at work). But for those of you interested in reading the seperate reviews on TG, Here they are.

Call of Duty 4 (http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2007/11/14/callofduty4_review/)
Crysis (http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2007/11/28/crysis_review/)

I'll add my feedback about the video later tonight.

Please take my response of your review as construcitve critisim...

Why did crysis get a 10? What parts of the game were stellar? You described how it makes todays machines croak and nothing can run it at its best, but what about the game gives it a 10? To me, if I can't run it how it should be run, that detracts from the rating.

I would like a follow up. You are prehaps the most aquainted with crysis out of any other member, and was probably looking forward to the game more than anyone else. In your eye's, how is the gameplay? The AI? The wepons? Storyline? Multiplayer? All of it... I am looking forward to hearing more detail from you.

Like I explained in my review DDD, it's very difficult to fully appreciate a game like Crysis when you cannot play it at the maximum settings and the highest resolutions.

Crysis gets a 10 because (Note: it is a single player game that originally was not going to include a Multiplayer with it. Just like HL-2 was a 10 when it came out and had no Multiplayer included other than CSS. But that was CSS and most people that played HL-2 did not bother with CSS and visa-versa) it (Crysis) allows the player to experience a single player like never before. For example, the trees fall down! The buildings fall down! The vehicles blow up like a vehicles should blow up! Etc. etc. etc. I believe it’s called a “destructive environment”. (U can’t run over a tree in BF2 with a Tank. U can’t blow up a building in BF2 or almost any game even if u had 1,000 C-4s.) Thus Crysis is more lifelike than any other game. Crysis is non linier like nothing before. Yes, if u quick save a few of the same things may happen again but for the most part the game is not scripted and you don’t have to do anything in a specific order other than complete a few tasks like for example saving a “damsel in distress”, blowing up an enemy’s strategic device, or escaping from point A to Point B.

As far as, “if [you] can't run it how it should be run” then like I said in the review,

“...I never blamed the Games when they lagged, locked up, Crashed, or outright BSDed my computer because I knew my Hardware was at fault. After repeatedly playing resource intensive games on such a dismal system, I upgraded my computer's Motherboard one time, the CPU twice, and my video card 7 times. And every upgrade made a big difference.” (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/player_review.html?id=526437&tag=readerreviews;continue)

As far as the single player game play goes, Crysis relies on "Immersion". And if u take away some or a majority of the “Immersion” effect because of the lack of a computer’s performance at the maximum settings then the Crysis game cannot be appreciated. And for now, nobody’s computer can play the game at maximum settings. It’s sort of a “Catch-22”.

If u want to experience the game at almost Maximum (u still can’t have high resolutions) and between only 25 and 35 FPS, then try the following self explanatory “Very High' On The Cheap” as it is explained at http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_13.html. It blew me away and I suggest having to go no further than the start of the game to be utterly amazed at the Immersion effect.

For example, (with “Very High' On The Cheap” video settings http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_13.html) go to the red flair after parachuting in at the start of the game (Full game or Demo). It’s just after killing the first 3 bad guys. Just look at the red flair on the beach. Gaze around at the sky and water and experience a Full Moon on a perfect beach with the best water ever in a video game. Then pick up one of the turtles or crabs that are scurrying around the beach. (Note: To place a turtle or crab back down without killing the little creatures remember to right click.) Next, pick up the red flair and throw it into the water and just look at it as it continues burning under water on the floor bed about 10 to 20 feet down. See how the red flair’s red smoke trail rises up thru and above the water. Jump in the water and go examine the red flair under water. DUDE, This is “immersion” in a game like everybody has been crying about having for years and this is one reason I give Crysis a 10! And everything else about the game compliments its immersion and does not need to be gone over. It’s an FPS like never B4.

If u want a professional’s description like he’s done hundreds of times go read or watch http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;review. He describes every facet of game play and why it’s grrrrreat!

And when the game can be played Maxed out at 2560 X 1600 then anybody should appreciate giving Crysis a 10. But before that time it’s going to be extremely hard to believe it deserves a 10. It’s one big fat “Catch-22”. And the same things have been said again and again starting with HL-1.

That's more of what I was looking for from you (as far as a review goes).

A co-worker of mine recently got his new processor (Intel Q6700) and upgraded to 4GB of PC2-6400 (800MHz) and is able to run everythign on high settings (2 or 4x AA) with his 8800 GTS SC. In a couple weeks, I'll basically have the same thing (Better mobo with mine and prob OC the ram). So I'll give it another shot at that time. However, I don't think that any game should require Uber-High settings to fully appreciate the game. The visuals, yes. The gameplay, no. CS is a prime example. The graphics suck by todays standards, but it is still one of the most heavily played games. Currently, I rate games by the following:

Graphics: (general overall)
Eye Candy: (Extra visuals such as glares, reflections, bump maps, etc.)
Physics: (How do people die, fall, run, objets react, etc. etc.)
Realism: (Blood, damage, ballistics, etc. etc.)
Multiplayer: (How fun is it to play with other people)
Singleplayer: self explanitory
Freedom: How scripted is it?
AI Reaction:
MP Replay Value: (How much can I play it before getting bored with a certain game mode?)
SP Replay Value:
Stability: (How stable is the game)
Problems/Errors: (Is it historically acurate if its a time based game, are there in-consistencies, do objects react equally, does everything work. BSP Holes?)

For the following, I would rate Crysis, and CoD4 as follows:

Graphics: 10 | 9
Eye Candy: 10 | 9
Physics: 9 | 9
Realism: 8 | 9 (Body parts should fly when hit with a shotgun at close range, no consistent blood in crysis)
Multiplayer: 0 | 10 (0 for crysis cause I havent played that part yet)
Singleplayer: 0 | 0 (havent fully played through either)
Freedom: 10 l 5
AI Reaction: 7 | 8 Based on what I have played so far, Crysis' AI is retarded for what it should be. Also, I haven't fully played CoD4 in SP yet, but what I did play was a bit better than crysis in terms of enemy reactions.
MP Replay Value: 0 | 10 Multiple game modes for CoD, up to 64 player support, little to no lag even with higher pings (100ish). Haven't sampled crysis yet.
SP Replay Value: 8 | 6
Stability: 4 | 10
Problems/Errors: 10 | 10 (when it ran, it ran fine)

Total: 6.3 | 7.9 Once I fully play both games (and get my new rig built) Both scores will likely improve.. Thus far, I have had limited experience with crysis due to the instability on my old machine.

I prefer CoD4 for singleplayer so far, enemies actually die when you shoot them 6 times in the head lol, although I havent played the full Crysis so I cant really compare the two...

Wow that's a good one. I don't have Crysis, so i think COD4 all the way!

That's like saying "I hate Pizza Hut, it's so bad, Dominos all the way!" when you've never had Pizza Hut.
:omg:

LMFAO Woody i was gonna say something about his post hahaha you beat me to the punch. But yeah you cant compare a game and say its better then another game if youve never played it and have only seen biased opinions about one game. =)

Call of Duty 4 is amazing, Crysis SHOULD look better then CoD 4 because CoD 4 = DX 9 not DX 10. The video link that DDD put out sums up a little of CoD 4 but that guy didn't quite know what he was talking about. The MP is amazing, its fast paced, kinda like a CoD, CSS, and BF2 mixture. Has many different gametypes suitable for all types of players and it also does require SKILL and TECHNIQUE just like another other game out there.

Having played through all of the sp and multiplayer for both games I would say that Call of duty wins multiplayer. Tied in Sp. And cod is a better game.
